Jobs of October: overview and 3 hot vacancies

Market

AngelList has published a full report (https://angel.co/talent-hacks/how-to-get-a-job-at-a-crypto-startup) on the state of the crypto labor market with facts and figures for the first semester of 2017: over 2,500+ technical role positions and 1,000+ non-technical job openings are currently up on the labor market. The number of vacancies doubled in the past half year.

 Salaries increase

AngelList pronounced in a statement that cryptocurrency startup salaries are 10-20% higher than the normal rewards specialists get working in the industry. This is explained by the boom of the ICO projects and the general easiness of raising money from public.

Flexible working schedules

Another huge trend of the crypto labor market is engagement of specialists from around the world. The crypto labor market is very diverse, the best specialists come from the U.S., Russia and China. Thus remote jobs and home office opportunities increased dramatically for applicants, who are not required to be in the office every day and can conduct 80% of the job requirements from home and within flexible hours.

New forms of compensation

The industry that is operating in cryptocurrency will likely pay its employees in Bitcoins, Ethereums or tokens. Some companies may provide compensation in equity form. As AngelList writes, “employees get the liquidity benefits of working at a public company with the high upside potential of working at a startup”.

In any case those, who are joining the cryptocurrency market are have two options: choosing a job in development of Bitcoin or Ethereum based projects or ICO’s releasing new coins. Obviously the first option promises to be more stable (if that’s generally a correct word for the crypto industry), while the second option is more promising and will open broader opportunities for development.
