Cloudwith.me was featured in many media outlets as one of the most interesting ICO’s launched this summer. The crowdsale was successfully completed: starting from the 21st September the company’s Cloud token became available for sale and exchange. The company is following one of the hottest trends in the crypto IT industry and is offering Cloud computing based on blockchain. We’ve decided to have a closer look at Cloudwith.me and other projects offering solutions in the field.

Cloudwith.me was founded in 2015 by Asaf Zamir, CTO of the project, and Gilad Somjen, CEO of Cloudwith.me. It is a cloud services provider, it hosts Amazon Web Services and Azure services. The company has launched a blockchain based project: the new decentralized cloud ecosystem that will provide usage of ASW for only 1$.

Petr Rylyakov, network engineer at www.OnCloud.ru (a cloud service provider from Russia’s leading IT company LANIT), commented on the project: “First of all, we need to understand what exactly is Cloudwith.me offering to the public. If we check out the site of the company, we will find a clear interface offering a control panel for ASW and Azure services” (https://www.facebook.com/oncloud.ru/photos/a.649894085064800.1073741828.572293959491480/1441325795921621/?type=3&theater) .

“Basically Cloudwith.me is reselling services provided by other companies. There is no interconnection between the different cloud services. Cloudwith.me is offering blockchain based services as well, yet again the company is reselling services built on other platforms. One may question why did Cloudwith.me need an ICO after all?” – continued Mr. Rylyakov.

So far the project remains a platform with a smart control panel that will definitely be of help for young starters. Those who are unfamiliar with Amazon might find the ASW services site complicated, while the Cloudwith.me interface is very easy and user friendly.

Cloudcoin (https://cloudcoin.ru) is another project that is worth the attention when one looks at cloud services based on blockchain. Founders of the project established the Cloud token currency for cloud services. The Cloudcoin should make cloud services even easier to use for the general public. The services will be available via peer-to-peer decentralized offering.

Still Cloudcoin is a platform that aggregates services built on provider platforms. Moreover the idea is not new and it doesn’t have to be necessary based on blockchain. The first project in the field was AllCloud (https://www.allcloud.io ). AllCloud is a leading global Cloud Solutions Provider with expertise across the cloud stack, infrastructure, Platform, and Software-as-a-Service.

At the moment it is too early to speak of cloud services based on blockchain. So far the world has seen only different blockchain related  cloud software solutions.  The company’s reselling cloud services are simply launching ICO’s as a source of easy money rather than as a real opportunity to launch industry disruptive products.
